Pricing
I try to keep my prices reasonable. I raise Shih Tzus because I love them and want to share that love with others. I do,
however, have to stay in business. I am a scientist; therefore, I use a formula to figure the price of each puppy. These
prices range from $600 to $1,200 for limited American Kennel Club registration. My prices for my purebred, but not
registered, puppies are $500 to $600. Of note, these prices are lower than what was paid for any of my dogs. I am trying to
keep my prices lower because of the current economic conditions, but my costs have risen as well. I am charging exactly
the same as I did seven years ago; however, my Veterinarian raised his prices 25% this last January.
I occasionally have puppies that I feel are worthy of Full Registration; that is, that their quality is such that they could be
used for breeding purposes. When I have such puppies they will be offered with Full Registration to approved breeders,
only! I, and only I, will make that determination! Full AKC registration is an additional fee of $500.
No one can guarantee the size of a puppy; therefore I do not charge more for the tiny ones. If you search the Internet, you
will find that most breeders do.
Asking for the rarer colors significantly increases the price of a puppy. The rare colors being livers, creams, reds and
blues. My liver dogs cost me twice what my others did. My blue female cost me $3000. That is why the difference in
pricing.
I have a waiting list for certain puppies. If you would like to be placed on my waiting list, please click on the link to contact
me and let me know what you want. When a litter is born; I will have first choice, then I will go to our waiting list before the
puppies are offered to the public. There is no cost or obligation.
I
do offer shipping of my puppies. Because of the cost of gas and the distance that I have to go to the airport I have
changed my fees. The price for shipping is now $275. That fee includes all expenses including: health certificate, carrier,
cargo fee and gas to and from the airport. I charge nothing for my time. I am sorry but it takes me at least an eight hour
day to ship a puppy. I only use Continental Airlines to ship my puppies.
I will not drop the price on a puppy before it is eight weeks of age. If the puppy is over eight weeks of age and still
available, then you can ask and have a good chance that I will come down on the price. Most of my puppies sell before
they are four weeks of age.
Repeat customers, or repeat offenders as my husband calls them, receive a $100 discount on their puppy.
